What's Coming This Spring and Summer 2026

Updated: 2 days ago

Each season I like to share a few ways we can learn and think together about assessment. This spring and summer I’m especially excited about a new workshop on supervision and mentorship, along with the return of two of my most popular consultation groups. I also have a couple of conference presentations coming up that some of you may be interested in attending.

Read on for a quick overview of what’s coming up!

New Workshop on Supervision and Mentorship

The offering I’m most excited about this season is a new continuing education workshop that I’ll be co-teaching with Alison Wilkinson-Smith, Ph.D., ABPP.

Effective Supervision and Mentorship in Psychological Assessment 📅 May 15 3 hours | 3 CE credits 💰 $150 early bird (by April 30) | $100 for students/trainees

You're already a strong assessment psychologist, but helping others develop assessment skills requires a different set of abilities. In this workshop, we’ll introduce a practical developmental model for supervision and consultation in psychological assessment. The focus is on making expert clinical reasoning more visible, structuring deliberate practice, and fostering the professional identity of the next generation of assessment psychologists.

Participants will leave with concrete techniques they can use immediately in supervision, consultation, and mentoring relationships.

Summer Groups

I’ll also be running two of my most popular small groups for assessment psychologists.

Report Writing Bootcamp

📅 Thursdays starting May 28 🕓 4 PM Pacific / 7 PM Eastern

90 minutes | 5 weekly sessions

💰 $625

This one-month program is designed for clinicians who want their reports to be more effective, more efficient, or more aligned with their professional values.

Together we’ll focus on identifying the highest-value parts of your work as an assessor so you can enhance what you already do well while streamlining the rest. The group combines practical strategies, real-world exercises, and accountability. This summer’s group will also include expanded content on incorporating technology/AI and visuals into workflows.

Assessment Consultation Group

📅 Every other Friday starting May 29 🕘 9 AM Pacific / 12 PM Eastern 6 biweekly sessions (3 months) 💰 $450

This small consultation group (6–8 clinicians) is a collaborative space to discuss cases, refine clinical reasoning, and support each other’s development as assessment psychologists.

Topics we often explore include:

  • Refining referral questions and listening for “secret questions”

  • Generating hypotheses using base rates and the “outside view”

  • Designing efficient and insightful test batteries

  • Developing strengths-based, solution-focused conceptualizations

  • Communicating complex ideas clearly in feedback sessions and reports

Upcoming Conference Presentations

I’ll also be giving two presentations this spring that may be of interest.

American College of Forensic Psychology

41st Annual Forensic Psychology Symposium March 19–22 (My presentation: March 20 at 8 AM Pacific)

Understanding Cognitive Bias in Professional Judgment

If you haven’t had a chance to catch my talks on cognitive bias in clinical decision-making, this is a great opportunity to explore how biases influence professional judgment and what we can do about it.

American Academy of Pediatric Neuropsychology

12th Annual Virtual Conference April 24–26 (My presentation: April 26, 2–4 PM Pacific)

Climate, Context, & Cognition: Linking Environmental Change to Children's Daily Lives

This talk explores how environmental change and climate-related stressors intersect with children’s cognitive and emotional development—and what that means for clinicians working with families. Be sure to check out the rest of the conference line-up too!

Looking Ahead

I’m already working on several additional offerings for the fall, including new workshops and consultation opportunities.

If you’re interested in thinking more deeply about psychological assessment, or in connecting with other clinicians who enjoy that kind of conversation, I hope you’ll consider joining one of the groups or workshops this season.

And as always, thank you for being part of this community.
